Wisconsin law protects home owners from scams related to home improvements. If payment is required before a contractor completes the work, the contractor must adhere to certain contractual requirements. Wisconsin also protects consumer from scams that arise from home improvement offers which are made by contractors at their home. As with automobile purchases, state and federal law regulates the financing that home improvement contractors may offer home owners.


Wisconsin also has a separate code for basement waterproofing. This code requires that you receive a “seller’s analysis” which outlines the water problem and the specific methods that will be used to correct your problem.
